Yesterday I experienced personal confirmation that the "sign up for a marketing offer, get x number of people to do the same thing, and we'll send you a free computer/iPod/PSP/etc." thing truly works and that it's for real.
So, I figure since I'm not overly proud or anything, I'll add another banner to the ol' blog for a little while - this time for a 'free' XBOX 360 game console (when it's released, obviously).
How it works: If eight of you click the link I posted and sign up for one of the offers there, I'll get a free X360 game console. If you then get eight people to do the same, you get one. It's that simple. The companies marketing the offers you can choose from pay for the cost of the game console.
There's several cool offers available to choose from right now, including:
-
a subscription to XBOX Magazine (how fitting),
-
Blockbuster's online rent-by-mail offer (which I use and love),
-
Audible.com membership specials (I also use their service and like it),
-
special offers for Comcast cable broadband,
-
eFax offers (if you still use paper FAX, you need to check that out),
-
and a lot more.
My theory is, if there's something there I could use (or want, within reason), it's worth it. And while there are some offers I would not choose to buy, there are several that are quite interesting to me. Each time I have done this (twice now), I have elected to participate in an offer that I considered worthwhile whether or not I got the free computer/console/whatever in the end. Of course, I did get the computer.
Here is what you do if you want to participate:
-
Click on the banner above, or on this link here.
-
Sign up for the program. Use a real email address, you have to verify via email.
-
Choose one offer that's of interest to you and do what it says.
-
Let me know (email or skype or something) if you complete an offer, if you don't mind.
-
Do the same thing on your web site, if you want. Of course, you don't have to.
Okay, enough blatant advertising. And for those of you who do participate, thanks much!
